My Camera Is My Toy.

Alessa: Photography? Di ba yun yung pagpicture picture?
Gien: Cam whoring naman yun. haha. Try mo, kuha ka ng picture ng kahit anong simpleng bagay.
Alessa: sure.
*click*
*shutter*
Alessa: is it nice?
Gien: freaking good couz!

my good cousin Gien taught me all about photography.
It ran in the family.
My uncle was a great photographer.
Gien, Jean and I proceeded on to follow him.

It's been two years since I started pursuing photography.
Actually I do a lot of things in my spare time.
I wrote stories which a few people were eligible to read.
I drew all the time.
I play sports such as basketball, soccer and volleyball.
I play computer games, have fun with people.
And I develop graphic designs on Adobe photoshop.
but the thing I love most is this.
PHO TO GRA PHY. <3

I idolize two great photographers of this generation.
One is Lucia Holm.
And the other is Sean Cronan.

Lucia is famous for her photography styles in vintage form.
You can find her photos on Flickr. com.
Her photos are so brilliant that they continue to intrigue me.
She is just marvelously stupendous. :)

And Mr. Cronan of course.
His photos are mostly skateboarding in action.
But he edits and captures them in absolute marvel and color that gives action and art at the same time

This photo was taken at a friend's house.
We were just playing at their backyard, then I saw this pile of barbed wire.
So I took a blind photo of it, and this is what came out.
So freaking awesome.
And their house was so freaking scary. :))

Now this was was taken at our bathroom.
Nikko Bueno, a photographer whom I met online taught me how to capture water still.
This photo stood out because it actually captures how water falls and combines as it falls down.
It was super amazing.
A lot of people commended my photo. :))

Now this one was taken at Puerto Galera at the Aplaya.
My grandmother lives at puerto so we go there every summer and enjoy a relaxing week there.
So, me and my fellow photography enthusiasts cousins took it as an opportunity to take photos and such for our hobby.
I took this one.

This was also taken at a friend's house.
We got hungry so we went out to buy cheese sticks.
When we were walking, we saw this creek down the road so I took a quick picture of it.
There were even guys passing buy who saw me taking a picture of the creek talking bout us.
I shouted back at them. haha.

And finally this was taken during the team building just this June 20.
I had lots of fun back there, I met many people and took lots of photos and enjoyed myself.

So see, i love photography until I die.
It is simply art with the truth.
it cannot be something that is only a concept of the mind hence it was take at an actual pace and time.

You don't tell me where I get the stuff i know.

I like to read books.
Sometimes novels, short stories, poems, legends, tales, comics, fictional and non fictional books and etc.

I save my money every moth to buy new books.
I do a lot of things during my free time.
And one of them is reading.

A lot of people borrow books form me, which I gladly share with them.

okay so this book is entitled Eggs. Written By Jerry Spinelli.
It tells us how two completely opposite kids meet and become friends.
David, the young boy loves his mother who died in a car accident.
Because of that, he never broke a rule.
He never stepped on grass which had warning signs.
He never wiped his hands on his pants.
Then he met this teenage girl named Primrose.
Primrose hated her mother, she moved into an abandoned bus beside their house and made it her own home.
She made it look beautiful and nice.
Her mother was a weird, fortune teller. Perhaps that was why she hated her.
But her mother loved her deeply, Primrose didn't see that in her mother.
She also loved bending the rules a bit.

They both faced new challenges and tasks ahead of them.
They never got along much but Primrose loved David like her own brother.
While David in return loved Primrose like his older sister.
But they always quarreled.
In the end, they both settled their differences and Primrose learned to love her mother.
David also became a good boy and they always played together with Refrigerator Jack.

Next book is Kiko Machine Komiks.
This is a Filipino made book which I learned to love and laugh within my free time.
Written and drawn by Manix Abrera, he puts humor into school and college life.
The characters here are weird, bizarre and they have no names.
Though you always see the same characters in every issue, only few or selected strips have characters that their names were mentioned.
They feature wacky, insane and unbelievable strips that are guaranteed to leave you rolling on the floor laughing.

And my most favorite book is this.
The Tee Shirt Factory By T Beams.
This book features graphic designs and vectors that are made for T-Shirt printing.
Designs here really inspire me to make my own design and somehow sell it to other people.

So there it is, my top three favourite books.
Read them too if you want. :))

School Lovin'

"The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men."
- Bill Beattie

Yeaaah.
Colegio San Agustin.
What an awesome school. :)

I came form St. Benedict College or San Beda before I got here.
I was in second grade when i transferred here at CSA.
until now, im still here. :))

my parents got encouraged to transfer me to CSA when my brother was looking for another school to transfer to.
We tried Matter also Don Bosco. But my parents weren't satisfied with the quality of the education that they offered. So my aunt suggested that we go to school where my cousin goes to.

I got to CSA when I was in second grade, the people there were very hospitable.
And i eventually made friends with people.
they kinda thought that I was weird because I kept doing stuff that were inhumane and too grossing.

But still, I made good friends with my best friend. Mico Ugalde.
We were always together during the second grade, he even gave me a cool black and orange beaded necklace.
And I gave him a blue airheads candy in return.

But so sad, he transferred schools already. Leaving me to look for new friends.
Third grade was very neutral. I made friends with both of my crushes back then. Mikael Garcia and Jan Carlo Cardama.
But yeah, nothing happened.

Fourth grade came and I was very athletically active during that grade.
We always played touch ball with some of the boys in our room.
We were also fanatics of scary stories and happenings at the school.
They started a rumour that the school was built on a cemetery which was too impossible.
Imagine having a dead guy's arm sticking out of the soil as you were walking towards your room.

Fifth grade was absolutely all about fun.
I loved to write when I was in fifth grade.
Me and Jan Zavier wrote stories together.

And I remembered Kevyn, Edward and Renzo being new students.
We loved music back then, we always played guitars and a lot of songs that we loved to listen to as kids.
Miguel Buensceso was an indeed good friend of mine.
He was a new student at that time, but he transferred to another school immediately.

I was also close friends with Charisse, Kathleen, Jhoy, Marigold, Aerielle, Mia Marlo, Elcid, Abisti and Christian for quite a long time.

okayy, sixth grade was still pretty awesome.
I grew a little mature, with the beat of writing and drawing still hot in my veins.
I learned to have more feminine friends than male friends.
still, nothing kept me from laughing from all of the antics that they all did.
I jammed all of my time with Aira Pampo, Arian, Pamela, Marian, Audrey, Ghell, Christine, Gaspi, Jeypee and Karl.
I learned to be a little mature when I was it sixth grade.

I also took pride in becoming a member of the school's volleyball varsity team.
yes being a varsity was a lot of fun. But I find it difficult to balance them both. My sports and my academics.
So I gave up playing.
I graduated grade school and proceeded to moving on with my next few phases of life.

Finally, high school and my fate intersected with a few of my current enemies.
I met a lot of new people during my high school days.
I made friends with people whom you'd think to be very bad in school.
Did things that people who think they owned the place did. Yeah.
I met my ever supportive, war-freaks barkada as a freshie.
I made friends with people who would defend me from the evil that they all knew and made enemies with people who were powerless.
Indeed my freshie life was a complete evil influence, but not entirely all of them were bad.
Most of them were very happy, we didn't give a damn about what the people thought about us.

and so, here is an incidental report.
we did something very "disturbing"
if "disturbing" is another word for late.
just imagine, my ever deranged adviser sent us to the DCO to get an incidental report just because we were late.
She hated us, no doubt about it.
But it was very unreasonable.
In fact, we even had lots of fun filling up the form in the DCO.

I also met my ever loving best friend in my Freshie life.
Abbie Agbing was a new student from AHS.
We met during a club meeting.
We weren't talking much to each other back then.
But I really wanted to make friends with her.
So i never stopped.
I spent almost all of my free time with her until she learned to trust and love me in return.
So we became the best of friends supporting each other in times of need.
Academically, Emotionally or Financially.
I looove my bes. :D

I also got more close to Angelica Yumol. An old, never fading friend of mine from the olden times when i was still a little mindless devil.
Yeah, we were both devils, but she was higher in comparison then me.
She had my back and I had hers.
Actually we have a long story behind all of out minds that would perfectly explain why we lived in such existence.
But hell, i wouldn't dare narrate it to you.
it's too confidential. :))
anyhoo, Anjo here is a very close friend of mine who loves fun more than i do and is always up for extra ordinary challenges.

Finally, freshie life ended. Making it one of the most experiential stage of my school life.

Now, I am a sophomore.
Coming back for what kind of challenges life may have installed for me.
I made new friends, hopefully the right ones.
And enemies that are utterly disturbing.
I hang out with Nica, Naomi, Hart, Auds, Jilly, Cams, Mybs, Judd, Pao, Kebkeb and Christian.
I may not know that's next to come during the next phases of my high school life.
But im sure it will be a memorable moment for me to cherish until forever.

so far, my sophomore life has been good all two months.
and a good question to ask fate?
what'll be next? :))

Moi Famillia.

yeaaaah!
I looove my family. haha
from my parents and brother to my long distance relatives.
I love, know and jam with them often. :)

my mother and my younger brother.
crazily shopping for something on my birthday. haha. LOL. :))

we frequently go shopping.
my mother owns a business,
a ummm... food service business.
we own 4 food stalls in UPHSL and a commecial stall at Plaza Pacita.

and she's reaaaal awesome, she sells Lattes and Shakes which are highly comparable to starbucks at a reasonable price. :))
go try one now! haha.
Plaza Pacita, look for Izzai Shakes,
Waffles and Rolls and tell them, you're a friend of mine for a discount. :))
kidding! haha!

okay. I also have the best freaking cousins in the world.
yes, i know. Im the youngest one in the gang and yes they all are in college.
but i see that as an advantage, i know what i have to do, not to do and college life before i even become college! :)

yes, they are indeed awesome.
but i learned a few
bad things from them.
every time we celebrate birthdays, gatherings and other occasions.
we go out drinking.
i admit it, i have drank,
but i have never gotten drunk!
never!!
i drank gin, vodka, beers, and a few cocktails already.
but hey, i still have
the time to change. :)
but still though, they are the bomb!

i love this photo. haha
we went to ATC for just a fun time.
we got to be models of pepsi. haha! :))

and
oh yeah.
i almost forgot.
my mother hailed from the province of Oriental Mindoro a.k.a. Puerto Galera.
so almost every summer, we go there to enjoy beaches, waves, the cool breeze.
the native atmosphere.
and best of all, no parental guidance. :))

so okay, nothing much to say about my freaking awesome family but wow. :)

Who exactly am I?

The year was 1995. The 13th day of April, at about 1:42 in the afternoon,
it was sunny and perfect.

"aaaaargh!" a mother screamed through the Medical City hospital at Mandaluyong.
Father was outside, waiting anxiously and worried for his wife and for his first baby.
Hours had passed and the doctor called him.
"Congratulations sir,
you are now a father."

now look how she's grown.

hey guys!
Alessa Katleen Contreras Engalan here showin' some love.
you have now reached my blog!
Im a true noypi, born and raised at the land of my mother and father.
The eldest daughter of Albin and Ester Engalan,
as well as the older sister of Earvin Engalan.
currently fourteen years of age and counting.

I have a lot of goals and aspirations in
life that are too impossible and bizarre.
Well, for starters.
I myself am bizarre.
I love boyish stuff like wearing boxers, playing basketball, playing RPG games
and first person shooter games.
And my hobbies are not too common.
Unlike other people who love
singing, drawing
and dancing.
I love art such as photography and graphic vectors.
This is an original design by yours truly. :)
I also engage in writing poems and short stories which I post online.

And my biggest aspiration in life?
I want to skydive.
seriously, no jokes.

My plan in life is just to have fun living!
I'll never get married, adopt two homeless children and send them to school for a better life. :)

im morbid.
i know right? :))))
*laughs*

and i loooove Shia and Taylor.

Shia LeBouf <3

Taylor Lautner <3

weird?
morbid?
hardcore?
yeah, i know. :D

there's not much to tell, so I'll just do my thing. :)

chill my homies.
peace out!
